Alternative medicine

Alternative medicine is a type of therapy which does not involve the use of conventional allopathic medicines. These therapies aim at resolving the root of the problem or cause of a disease or condition and do not rely on surgical or technology based approaches to treat them. It mainly involves the use of certain naturally occurring substances. There are more than 500 different types of alternative medicines. Some of the most common alternative therapies are Ayurveda, Unani, homeopathynaturopathy and acupuncture. People who are skilled with alternative medicine are called alternative practitioners. They implement a ‘holistic approach’ to treat a condition taking into account the patient’s physical, mental and emotional health altogether. While many health practitioners question the effectiveness of alternative medicine, there are several people who claim to have been relieved of their illness with alternative medicine. Because alternative medicine involves a holistic approach, it generally takes time to show results. Therefore, most people do not prefer alternative medicine. The chances of  getting cured of a diseases or condition with alternative medicine vary among people and whether a particular alternative therapy will work for your condition cannot be determined unless you try it. In this section, you’ll find articles on various alternative medicines as well as specific information on alternative medicine of Indian origin. You can try tips and home remedies for various conditions like diabetesseasonal allergies, weight loss, hair loss.
