While there is a lot of noise being made about increasing number of dengue deaths, swine flu seems to have slipped under the radar in Karnataka. According to the Karnataka government, the H1N1 virus has claimed 28 lives in the state this year.

“At least 365 people, including 197 in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike areas, have been tested positive for H1N1 virus till July 23,” health and family welfare minister Aravind Limbavali said.

In comparison, there were 1091 dengue cases and 10 deaths.
