EcstasyResearchers have found that taking ecstasy pills, even in small amounts can damage memory.  Worryingly, the memory lapses are similar to those that occur in the early onset of dementia, the Daily Mail reported.  Even 10 pills a year – less than one a month – caused problems, says the journal Addiction.

Ecstasy, also known by its chemical name MDMA, is a Class A drug. Researchers from the University of Cologne focused their study on young people who had tried the drug in the past and expected to use it more in future.

Young men and women in Britain are thought to be Europe’s biggest users of ecstasy and the drug has been linked to more than 200 deaths since 1996.
