A UNICEF report titled Progress for Children, 30 % of all adolescent girls in India were married and at least 22 % became mothers before attaining adulthood.
The report by UNICEF, based on a survey conducted in the period 2000-2010, says in comparison only 5% of male adolescents were married.
Released globally on Thursday, the report also says 47 per cent women who are 20-24 years old, were married before they were 18 years old, and 18 per cent of women aged 20-24 years were married or were in union before they were 15 years old.
About eight per cent of female adolescents aged 15-19 had sex before the age of 15, as compared to only three per cent for male adolescents.
Shockingly, the report suggests that between 2002 and 2010, as many as 57 per cent male adolescents aged 15-19 thought a husband is justified in beating his wife under certain circumstances. So do 53 per cent of female adolescents.
On the justification of wife beating, the report also mentions that 54 per cent of women aged 15-49 years consider a husband to be justified in hitting or beating his wife for at least one of the specified reasons — if his wife burns the food, argues with him, goes out without telling him, neglects the children, or refuses sexual relations. The UNICEF report also states that 12 per cent of males and females in the country between 2000 and 2010 were involved in child labour.
disgracefull
Dear Readers,
i get surprised and fear a lot when these reports come in public or online. Why UNICEF and RED cross and other such organisations working as puppets in the hands of USA high light about these issues so much, for me there could be two reasons:
1. To target us emotionally that you are underdeveloped and mentally sick.
2. To promote and propagate in our families these crimes more and at high speed, which is a part of the propaganda.
These countries are playing with we Indians from decades. if we will study the report by same UNICEF below which states:
According to a 2001 UNICEF survey, in 10 out of 12 developed nations with available data, more than two thirds of young people have had sexual intercourse while still in their teens. In Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States, the proportion is over 80%. In Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, approximately 25% of 15 year olds and 50% of 17 year olds have had sex.[2] In a 2005 Kaiser Family Foundation study of US teenagers, 29% of teens reported feeling pressure to have sex, 33% of sexually active teens reported “being in a relationship where they felt things were moving too fast sexually”, and 24% had “done something sexual they didn’t really want to do”
So question arises aren’t we Indians better than them socially, culturally and morally. The time has come they should stop exploiting our India globally and tarnishing our Image globally.
Dear readers I wish we can further discuss about this issue, we are achieving heights of success in every field.
I want your comments on this issue.
Let us be one and build India.
What you have said is is cent percent right, this UNICEF people collect funds within India, in the name of for India and spread bad news about India, every country has their own dirts to be cleaned, so go and first clean your self.
I am sure that every girl..it can be a child, teen , adult or a women..in india is a victim of harassment by men mentally or physically at one or the other time in her life…a survey also revealed the same ..i remember..All these bloody men..who are inhuman and dont know the value of a relation shud be publicly hanged..a girls mental torture is not gone by life imprisonment or bail ..girls need not have much patience to bear with the bloody guys and no one is here to change others in this fast moving life…
Husband beating his wife because….. she burnt the food…what is this nonsense !
Husband beating his wife also one reasons money
The grund reality is worst then this . At village the poverty is one reason, but the caste system is the worst reason. The lower caste people are landless poor & uneducated . The lower caste girls are forcibly or otherwise are compelled to sex by dabang at the smallage . The state is not listning, the law inforcement agencies are with strong & dabang. Education can improve the things . Therefore the education should spread & Varn vyawastha & caste system shall be eradicated . This creates hatred 7 compex.
Not only education is enough to improve the situation of girls. Govt should take strict actions against the culprits who are involved in activities like rape, forcing to prostitution, mental stress on girls. Many a times govt officials sons perform rape, but in such situation they are given bail and released free so that other girl will become victim of rape. Central Govt. should make strict law for such officials and there sons to do this. They should be Hanged to death, not life imprisonment… I recommend people to watch Crime Patrol in Sony T.V which shows the reality going on in many states and how girls have become victim of rape by govt. officials.. I salute makers of Crime Patrol.
and also prefer all govt. officials to have a look at this what is going on in villages.
Dear sir,
you have voted a idiot, and expecting idiot to create strict law.
Dont expect good from corrupted politicians, People are allowing to have many kids for poor family.
Why they dont make law to stop for 2 kids, because only poor fellows dont understand what is corrupted politicians and give them vote to corrupted politician son in the coming generartion.
It is all trics of congres/bjp-corrupted parties to play with life of poor people.
Every act/thing they do , they do it for their selfish development.
They harly create any law to uplift the poor poeple and to eraedicate corruption in india.
Never even Gandhi also was not interested to help poor people.
Sex outside marriage should be crime – neeed new law.
we need 2 things
1) poverty should be earadicated
2) we need to maintain moral values – it is only possible with moral guidence
