Effect of deficiency on hair |
Vegetarian sources |
Non-vegetarian sources |
|
Protein |
These are building blocks of every tissue of the body including hair and scalp. It helps in new hair generation to replace the ones that are lost. |
Dry and brittle hair; thinning of scalp due to non-replacement of the shedding hair. |
Proteins from beans, nuts, grains etc are good but not optimal since they contain protein in the incomplete form.
|
Proteins from animal sources are the best eg: meat, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, cheese. |
|
Vitamin C (If you are a smoker, your requirement for Vitamin C doubles) |
This vitamin is required for producing collagen which is essential for holding tissues in the hair together. |
Weak and brittle hair leading to split ends and hair loss. |
Oranges, lemon, sweet lime, berries, watermelon, palak, methi, tomatoes and potatoes. |
Not available from animal sources |
|
Iron (If you are a woman, your requirement for iron is even more since you lose blood and iron during menstruation. Pregnant and lactating women also need more iron) |
Required for formation of hemoglobin in turn providing enough oxygen and blood to the hair |
Weakening of the hair and hair loss. |
Non-heme iron from palak, rajma, dal, chana, soyabeans |
Meat, chicken, eggs, fish are the better sources since heme iron from animal sources is more easily absorbed. |
|
Copper |
Same as above |
Weakening of the hair and hair loss. |
Sesame seeds (til), soya, cashews
|
Meat (especially liver), seafood |
|
Zinc |
Helps the oil glands in the hair follicle to function normally. |
The oil glands do not produce enough oil leading to dry scalp, dandruff and hair loss.
|
Nuts, whole grains, dals |
Meat, seafood |
|
Vitamin B complex |
Helps hemoglobin which helps supply oxygen to the scalp and hair and hair follicles. |
Weak, undernourished and damaged hair |
Not available from vegetarian sources |
Tuna fish (bangda) and salmon fish (rohu), chicken |

I must admit I love bubbly smpoaho, too.I have just added to the post that we do use normal smpoaho once in a while, though I find it difficult to find smpoaho that doesn’t make me worry. How lucky of you, winning that voucher, looks like you won’t need to buy new smpoaho or toothpaste anytime soon!!
Please read carefully
I just found this site, so I am late, very late, replying to this tarhed. I tried my hardest to do this, but it simply did NOT work for me. Yes, it didn’t smell bad, but it did look awful. I am an older’ woman, but still have very oily hair. I lasted for 4 weeks, by wearing my hair up’ for most of this time, but I got very tired of doing this, and furthermore wanted a shorter haircut. I refused to go to the hairdresser like that, so I gave myself a thorough shampoo, and a couple days later another. I noticed a lot of dead skin built up around the edges of my scalp, and trying to simply rinse it away with nothing but warm water didn’t work. I am back to shampooing twice a week, as that is the only way I feel comfortable with my appearance. This really isn’t for everyone.
Hmmm might give it a try. I’m not a high-maintenance gal, but I do like my bubbles and I don’t know if I’ll be ceovertnd. I won 40 quid’s worth of persil vouchers last year so I now have a cupboard full of shampoo and toothpaste!
Hair loss effects many ppleoe, but there are so many reason for it:-Stress, from work or emotional (My sister started to lose her hair because my other sister had cancer, and she was under a lot of stress)- Only real way to stop this is to stop stressing and relax a little, take some time for yourself-Low iron- Many ways to solve this; one way is to start eating more red meat (unless your a vegetarian- that may be why you have low iron) or to take iron supplements (but I would recommend seeing a doctor first-Hormonal imbalanceMy sister used almond oil (direction: just a little in a palm of a hand and rub it in then cover hair in bandanna or something similar, to stop dirt, and was out after 30 minutes) she uses it daily since a year, and her hair is slowly starting to grow back, but you can never really be sure it will work for you. You could try just a small bottle.I highly recommend you see a doctor, help you find a reason for you hair loss and what can be done about it. I feel it will be less terrifying if you know what it is.And BEWARE, because ppleoe/companies will try and sell you “Miracle hair growth” products that don’t actually work or even make it worse. You should definitely try and get your money refunded.

Hi there ! Nice avatar you got !Hats are For Fashion Not to Cover-Up Your Bald Spots!Nothing can be more dtsavtaeing for a women than to realize that her hair is coming out far more extensively and rapidly than is normal. (Normal is 100-150 strands a day). Each hair grows for a period of 2-6 years, goes through a short dormant period and then falls out as the follicle pushes through a new hair. When new hairs do not replace the old or when hair is coming out in clumps or sections, there is definite cause for concern.Female hair loss comes from a variety of causes – some temporary, some permanent. Temporary causes include pregnancy, anxiety and stress, too many strong treatments (coloring, bleaching), too much manipulation, illness, disease, and infections of the scalp. Fortunately, regrowth occurs naturally when as these causes dissipate. Permanent hair loss occurs as a result of heredity and hormonal changes and unfortunately is not reversed naturally. Women usually see hair loss begin at areas of parts, where parts become wider. Female pattern baldness occurs primarily in the frontal areas; then, there is general overall hair loss, resulting in a continual thinning of the entire head with the scalp becoming more and more visible.Treatments for female hair loss include a number of things:1.Diet plays some role in hair loss, so it is important to commit to a healthy well-balanced diet at all times.2.Exercise increases blood circulation to all areas of the body, the scalp included. Some studies have shown that increased blood circulation to the scalp can assist in the stimulation of follicles to begin to produce hair again. 3.There are a number of natural herbal and oil remedies, most of which are topical, that is, they involve applying solutions directly onto the scalp with the effect of opening up closed follicles and enhancing the chance of hair production. These have varying degrees of success, dependent upon the individual.4.Wigs and hair extensions can provide non-permanent relief for sufferers and, fortunately, these are considered acceptable fashion accessories today.5.A number of medical products have also been developed specifically for females. It is important to state here that women must be certain that products they use are specifically designed for them. Male hair products often have ingredients which can be harmful to women, particularly those of child-bearing age. Medical products are available through prescription and over-the-counter. It would be wise to consult with a physician first, before using any of these, to be certain that they are not contra-indicated with any other medication currently being used and to be certain that the hair loss is not the result of some other medical condition. Provillus has products designed specifically for women, and is FDA approved. Research studies on the effectiveness of these and other products, in terms of both reducing loss and promoting regrowth, is readily available on the Internet, through a “Google” search. Some offer money-back guarantees, and most have testimonies from satisfied users. Success varies by individual, and success or lack of success from one customer does not necessarily relate to your body’s response.6.There are also a number of surgical procedures available for women, including transplants and grafts. These are expensive and should be explored carefully before committing to the cost. The distress over hair loss is an individual matter. If yours bothers you on a daily basis and you are beginning to avoid normal social activities due to embarrassment, you owe it to yourself to take action. Life is to be enjoyed! So stop wondering and get hair back now !Please check the source bellow and You’ll get the best natural hair loss treatment that exist.

read this:FALLING HAIR -Does your hair fall a lot? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Millions of people from all oanurd the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are: TensionToo much workIllnessPoor dietOver-exposure to the sunPermingAmateur bleachingToo frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP. Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth. A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must. Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday. Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull. Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down! ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc. A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness. VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil. COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper. Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall: Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month a1V if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel oanurd your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing. Quick Hair Care Conditioner Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable. Honey Conditioner Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour. Alcohol Conditioner Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth. Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yoursESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall. Wide-toothed comb Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly. The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair. While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.Leave-in conditionerDry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.OilOlive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.EggEgg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.
