Coconut oil and lemon juice pack:

Coconuts have a number of benefits on the body and one of them is a lightening effect of hyperpigmented (dark or discoloured skin) skin. Known for its abilities to lighten scars and stretch marks, coconut oil gently moisturizes your skin and gets rid of blemishes. When you add lemon to coconut it forms an instant, homemade bleach and moisturizer mix.

 To make this pack take about three tablespoons (or more depending on the size of the area that is darkened) add the juice of half a lemon to it. The amount of lemon you add should ideally be one-third of the amount of oil you use.

Apply this solution to the inside of your thighs and massage it in well – you can massage  the area with for about 15 to 20 minutes until it is completely absorbed into your skin. This massaging action also leads to greater blood flow in the area helping lighten the skin.

Next, wash off the area with warm water and a rough wash cloth, gently rubbing the area. Remember not to use soap on the area right after you have applied this solution. Soap will take away all the moisture and render the remedy useless.  Do this once a day and watch the area lightening in just one week.

Curd and lemon pack

This is a great remedy that will not only get rid of the darkening on your thighs but will also help keep it moisturized and supple. Lemon adds the necessary acidic and whitening properties making this a perfect pack for people with extremely dark inner thighs. You can also add a bit of besan or gram flower and turmeric to this pack to help with the lightening process and keeps infections at bay.

To make this pack take a spoon of slightly sour unflavoured curd, add the juice of half a lemon, a little besan and a pinch of turmeric to the mix. Mix it into a paste and apply it onto the areas that are darkened. Allow it to stay till it dries and gently scrub off using circular motions. Wash off the residue with water and pat dry. Do this once every day to see a change in the colour of your inner thighs.

Sugar, lemon and honey pack

This pack effectively lightens and exfoliates your skin while keeping it healthy. The honey helps keep the sensitive skin of your inner thighs healthy and the sugar gently exfoliates the area. Lemon adds to the bleaching effect of the pack and helps in reducing hyper pigmentation in the area.

To make this pack, mix one spoon of honey with the juice of half a lemon and a teaspoon of sugar crystals. Apply this paste to the area and gently scrub it in circular motions till the sugar completely disappears. Allow it to stay on the area for about five minutes and wash it off with water.

This paste tends to be a little sticky, make sure you wash it off well. Applying this pack everyday for a week will yield very good results.

Sandalwood, lemon and cucumber pulp pack

This pack cools the inner thighs and soothes the tender skin of the area. Lemon lends it the much needed acidic component making it a perfect remedy for dark inner thighs.

To make this pack grate a peeled cucumber, add a spoon of sandalwood powder and the juice of half a lemon. Mix well, till it is a paste and apply it on your inner thighs. Allow it to stay till it dries and gently wash off.

 One of the reasons for darkening of the inner thighs is chaffing (or rubbing) of the thighs. If the area is sore due to chaffing avoid adding lemon to the mixture and apply it to the area. This pack will then act as a soothing agent and help reduce the burning you commonly feel due to chaffing.

Almond oil, lemon, milk and honey pack

Almond oil is a rich source of vitamin E — an essential vitamin for the smoothening and brightening of the skin – making it an elixir for hyper pigmented inner thighs.  Milk and honey lend this pack the essential moisturizing and anti-bacterial effect, while lemon gives it the necessary bleaching action.

To make this pack, take two to three tablespoons of milk, add a spoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon to it. Now add a teaspoon of almond oil to the mix. If you can’t find almond oil try using the paste of almonds (add a few almonds to a grinder with a few spoons of milk, and grind it into a paste).

Apply this pack to your inner thighs and allow it to stay for fifteen to twenty minutes. Once dry scrub off the pack using gentle circular motions, wash off the rest of the pack with water.

Oatmeal, curd and lemon juice pack:

Oatmeal is not only great for your body it also acts as a very effective exfoliating agent. Curd and lemon help increase the bleaching and acidic content of the pack, making it perfect for dark inner thighs.

To make this pack take a spoon of oatmeal, add slightly sour curd and a spoon of honey. Mix well till it becomes a paste and apply it on the skin of your inner thighs. Now gently scrub the area. Remember to be gentle as the skin in this area is very sensitive. Scrub for about two to three minutes and gently wash off the excess with water. Pat the area dry. Applying this pack once a day can help lighten the area significantly.

Potato juice, tomato juice and honey

Potatoes and tomatoes are great natural bleaching agents that unlike lemon are not very corrosive – which makes them perfect for the sensitive area of the inner thigh. Honey acts as a antibacterial agents that also helps keep the skin soft, supple and blemish free.

To make this pack, grate a small piece of peeled potato, add the juice of half a tomato and a table spoon of honey to the mix. Apply this paste on the area and allow it to dry. Once dry, wash the area well with water and pat dry. You can apply this paste as regularly as you wish. Typically using it twice a day (once in the morning and in the evening) gives good results.

Orange peel and honey

If you thought orange is only good for you during a cold, you are mistaken. The skin of oranges are packed with vitamin C and bleaching agents. Not only is it a good for your skin it also gives the area that fresh orange flavour.

To make this pack, grate the peel of an orange and add a spoon of honey to it. Crush the grated peel a little to allow the acidic content to release into the honey. Now, apply this on your inner thighs and massage it into your skin. This mixture is slightly sticky and you will need a little extra solution to help keep the area moist as you massage it. Do this for about 15 minutes and then wash it off with water. Just like the potato juice pack this pack can be applied twice a day for quick results.

Aloevera gel and vitamin E oil pack

Aloevera  has been well documented for its awesome benefits on the skin, but did you know it works very well as a lightening agent? Yes, and when vitamin E oil is added to it, this cactus plant becomes an even more potent lightening agent.

To make this paste take the pulp of aloe vera (or the gel) add a few drops of vitamin E oil and mix it well. Now apply this to your inner thighs and allow it to dry. Once dry, wash the area well with water and pat it dry.

This pack can be used twice a day, but be careful not to apply it too often.

To make this pack, take equal quantities of glycerin and lemon and add a little bit of rose water  to it.  This pack is best used at night, just before you go to bed since it needs to remain on the area for as long as possible. Once ready, apply this pack to your inner thighs, allow it to remain for the rest of the night and wash it off the next morning.

General rules to use packs on the inner thighs:

  • Do not use these packs on broken or wounded skin. Allow the area to heal well before you apply anything.
  • Avoid using soaps in the area right after the application of this pack, since it can strip it away of essential moisture.
  • If you have oily skin or tend to perspire a lot, use talcum powder in the area to help lessen the friction between your thighs.
  • In case you have normal skin, apply a mild moisturizing body lotion to the area. A water based one is best for the area as it is prone to sweating.
