Biography

A triple post-graduation with MBA in Human Resources, M.Sc. in Psychology and M.S. in Psychotherapy and Counselling, Sowmiya is a multifaceted professional in understanding human psyche and behaviour. She has been working in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy for over 6 years; with experience ranging from intense psychological and emotional hand-holding of clients and their families at MANAV Foundation (centre for rehabilitation for people suffering from mental illnesses) to counselling children on study skills and managing their academics. She has her private practice and also functions as a part- time school counsellor at Marthoma School, Govandi where she also conducts workshops for children, parents and teachers. She specializes in using Drama therapy (use of dramatics in emotional expression).
