Dr Nayak is the head of the Department of Head & Neck Oncology at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad which specializes in the surgical management of Head & Neck cancers and other related tumours. He has vast experience in surgery for oral & throat cancers, Thyroid and Parotid surgery, skull base surgery and head & neck reconstructive surgery. The Department also specializes in post laryngectomy speech rehabilitation and runs a very successful Laryngectomy Club, for the patients’ rehabilitation. Inspired by his vast experience as a surgeon caring for people with head and neck cancers, Dr Nayak has seen many moving stories and this is what prompted him to write a book entitled "Enduring Cancer – Stories of Hope" which was released in Hyderabad this year.
